bevel cut

A bevel cut is a carpentry technique used to hide the joint between pieces of millwork and molding. In a bevel cut, material edges to be joined are cut at complementary angles (e.g. 45 degrees and 135 degrees); the beveled edge surfaces are then overlapped and fastened securely together.
